Convention Center has received more than $2.5 million through LWCC’s dividend program since 2003

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (NOENMCC), received a $133,196.53 dividend from its workers’ compensation insurance company LWCC, the largest workers’ compensation carrier in the state.

LWCC is a private, mutual insurance company. A unique benefit of membership in a mutual company is that policyholders receive a share of the company’s profits as dividends when the company performs well financially.

“One of the benefits of being a policyholder with LWCC is consistently receiving a dividend for more than two decades. It’s funding that we put back into our safety programs. said Alita Caparotta, NOENMCC Interim President & CEO. “The Convention Center and LWCC share a commitment to worker safety, operational excellence, employee care and being leaders in Louisiana and we’re proud to be policyholders and partners.”

While dividends are not guaranteed, LWCC has issued a policyholder dividend every year since 2003, one of the most consistent in the industry. This year’s dividend brings the Convention Center’s cumulative total to $2,583,128.38.

A frequent recipient of LWCC’s “Safest 70” award, most recently  in 2023, the Convention Center has proven excellence in maintaining workplace safety and preventing injuries.

The Convention Center continues to be recognized for its employee development, having been named a 2025 National Top Workplaces earlier this year. This marks the second time NOENMCC has received this national honor, the first being in 2021, and the tenth overall Top Workplace recognition for the organization.
