Holiday Magic Expands as NOLA ChristmasFest Opens with Indoor Ice Rink, Carnival Rides and New Ice Bumper Cars

Enjoy daily holiday festivities from December 20 through December 29.

NOLA ChristmasFest opens tomorrow for its 12th year, welcoming thousands of guests into more than 300,000 square feet of holiday magic, activities, rides and performances through Dec. 29 at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Visitors can once again step into an indoor winter wonderland and skate on the beloved Big Freezy ice rink which still stands as the only ice rink in the Greater New Orleans area.

New for 2025, guests can experience the Big Freezy Ice Bumper Cars, a high-energy ride that lets visitors spin, glide and slide across the ice in a five-minute bumper car session. Because of high demand, ticket sales for Ice Bumper Cars are separate and reservations open at 11:00 a.m. the day before ride date, beginning Dec. 19. Riders must arrive at least 10 minutes before their scheduled time slot. A full breakdown of Ice Bumper Car regulations can be found on nolachristmasfest.com.

“We’ve brought an exciting new lineup of holiday experiences to NOLA ChristmasFest this year,” said Jim Cook, Convention Center President and CEO. “From our brand-new Big Freezy Ice Bumper Cars to the returning traditions that families look forward to every year, this festival continues to be one of the region’s most joyful and unforgettable ways to celebrate the holiday season.”

Other new attractions include the Snow Throw, allowing visitors to put their aim to the test with bullseye targets to hit. The Silent Night reflective area joins the lineup as a designated quiet space to allow visitors to take a moment and unwind from the fun or draft a personal holiday wish for the new year. Winter Wonders sponsored by Louisiana Children’s Museum is also making a debut on Dec. 22 and Dec. 29 with activities like a literacy nook, holiday corn hole, a winter sensory bin and building a snowflake suncatcher.
